Grant is an award winning Princeton TS and Oxford educated social economist who co-founded Twiga Foods in 2014 to reduce market fragmentation in the fresh produce market.

Through its mobile-based B2B platform, Twiga supplies fresh fruits and vegetables sourced from farmers in rural Kenya to small- and medium-sized vendors in Nairobi. Prior to founding Twiga Foods, Grant spent over seven years in Nairobi’s informal markets through his Master’s and Doctorate research on the impact of religion on economic choice-making in East African urban informal markets. Grant won the Arthur Schillebeeckx Award for his work on the development of economies of time, and the Samuel Blizzard Award for social engagement. He was also awarded the fellowship for top departmental student while at Princeton. At Twiga, Grant has led the team in developing and fine-tuning its route-to-market strategy, and consumer USP. Twiga is now considered one of the fastest growing companies in Africa.
