Wayne Hennessy-Barrett is the founder and CEO of 4G Capital, an innovative African fintech microcredit operating in Kenya since January 2012. At 4G Capital, Wayne has driven market disruptor credit services to provide developmental business growth lending to the Bottom-of-Pyramid sectors. Within 9 months of operations, the company had achieved rapid book growth and break-even with 90+% collections rates.

He brings a wealth of expertise in new market penetration, expeditionary business development, start-ups, and turn-around operations to drive profitability from lean processes. He has extensive experience in corporate governance and risk management (holding a Diploma in International Compliance), and has provided intelligence-led strategic advice to a number of boards in both the commercial and public sector.
Prior to 4G Capital, Wayne was the Head of Loans for a South African consumer finance company operating in Kenya. He also has prior experience in change consulting, serving as COO & Director of Consulting for an international strategic change consultancy in Jersey (Channel Islands), supporting private banks and blue chip financial and professional service firms.
Wayne is a Fellow of the Institute of Leadership and Management, a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute, and holds a Masters from King’s College London in Conflict Studies and International Relations as well as a BA from Exeter University in Politics, graduating cum laude in both. Wayne also served as an infantry officer in the Coldstream Guards, seeing extensive active service worldwide in specialised roles.
